The big push towards biofuels worries me. It does not seem to be well thought out. This may lessen our dependence on oil but at the expense of water, the shortage of which is rapidly becoming more serious than the oil shortage. Biofuels will also still pollute. Will carbon released from these be any better for people with asthma, or for the ozone layer, than burning fossil fuels? Why not plan for a change?
